Now listen to me, please. That’s STUPID!! Did you get it? S T U P I D.

First of all, I know I have a bad memory… but I am still capable of remembering a damn password five seconds after some stupid web site asked me to enter it twice along with a dozen other useful personal information (where 99% of the users will just realize they have a brilliant imagination and end up filling the forms with nonsense).
Last but not least, I don’t f*** want my password to cross the whole web in plain text (yeah, somebody tell web developers thay mail usually travels unencrypted) along with my username and a link to the login page (why don’t we add my credit card number too?).

That’s weak. O____O

Dear European Union, you better shut the f*** up or we will have Italy’s train company buy Alitalia because we don’t give a damn f*** about our own laws, let alone we respect yours. (*)

(*) I guess you’ll have to take a train in Italy at least once (and try not to shoot yourself in the foot afterwards) to understand the reach of this statement :D

When 99% of Us is Failure

Burn, Rome, Burn!
Originally uploaded by Giampaolo Macorig.

Now that even Rome is gone I just hope some people will open their eyes and finally see why Italy needs a new Left. I hope that bunch of stone aged and brain dead polititians that call themselves leftists will open their damn eyes and retire to Hammamet - where they all belong. And I won’t make a single exception this time.

I guess there must be quite a good reason if the Communist Party has disappeared during the latest elections. I feel that they quit to represent working people since quite some years, being too busy in caring about their own personal businesses. And I feel the same happened to trade unions. I guess we are all fed up of Italian’s political class. Which is roughly the same we had fourty or fifty years ago.

So, farewell Rome. I have loved every single day I have been there (*), but I guess things will be different now.

(*) Except for that time I had a tasty pizza right in Piazza Navona. A wonderful location. Except for that f***ing 10 metre wide political poster attached to one of the wonderful buildings that face the square, figuring - guess who - The Almighty and Endless Clown. Now try to figure out how p***ed off I was.

Moving on

End Of The Day

Well, this post is just a quick update about movida. I have finally integrated WebKit into movida so you will need Qt 4.4 (RC1 or later). Both the template based “details” view and the movie preview of the movie import plugin use the new super duper cool QtWebKit module.
It still needs some fixes - mostly because WebKit is a fully featured browser so I need to disable and handle a couple of things but it works great.

The screen below shows the new embedded default template. Too sad that WebKit doesn’t allow to access embedded resources from an HTML file, so I had to embed both CSS and images into the HTML (thank the Holy Spaghetti Monster if the Troll’s didn’t embed IE into Qt, so this was no issue at all ;-) ).

I’m also planning to add some nifty features: for instance, clicking on an actor name should apply a filter and show all movies featuring that guy. This would also make the shared data view needless. Cool :D

Ok. It’s daisy stomping time!

PS: actor (as well as any other shared data) order is now user defined and preserved when loading/saving a collection. Now you should be able to tell movida that Taxi Driver is about De Niro and Foster, and not about Shepherd ;-)

PPSSP: templates will be i18n-able sooner or later. I just need to find out the best way to achieve this :-(
