WordPress code snippet

Comments: none :(

More comments: lots. but I better don’t even tell you how much time I’ve just spent trying to paste the above code snippet in the WP editor as text.

Sorry, I’m cynic. But I don’t write such stupid software that is used by 43.8% of the bloggers on the net. And I’m too lazy to look for another blogging software and move to the remaining 56.2% :-)

Dear Mr. Spitzer…

Americans are crazy. Eliot Spitzer just resigned amid a scandal over a $1,000-an-hour prostitute.

I would suggest Mr. Spitzer to take the next plane to Rome - he is perfectly in time for the incoming elections here in Italy.

And don’t worry, we don’t care if you had a crazy night with a prostitute. And if you are willing to make a career in crime, be sure that nobody will prevent you from having your own chair in Italian parliament.

Corruption, Mafia affiliation, false witness, gang affiliation, tax evasion, manufacture, possession and bearing of explosive devices, resisting to a police officer are among the most successful ways to get involved in Italian politics.

Welcome to the Dolce Vita!

PS : Don’t worry Eliot, you can take your SUV with you, we don’t give a f*** about the environment in Italy! I bet we are even better than you Yankees at this. Yeah, Rumsfeld!

Opaque Usability

OMG I just realized I have a weird and terrifying creature in my KUbuntu KDE 3.5.8. One thing I do appreciate in KDE (and, generally speaking, Linux) applications is consistent UI elements and few people trying to reinvent the wheel who usually end up creating painful and horrible usability enemies.

But this makes my neckskin crawl. Who the hell put a slider and a push button in my KDE menu?!?

Edit: I don’t need to add that the push button label will actually change to the opacity value as soon as you move the slider, ensuring that only a lobotomized squirrel could understand that pressing it will reset the opacity to 100%.

I wish this would be your colour

  The green way #2
Originally uploaded by dhammza.

It was grass mowing time this morning on the riverbanks next to my home. The smell of freshly cut grass and all that green (well it wasn’t that much actually) reminds me of my childhood in Germany.

I used to play with some of the neighbourhood children in a lawn next to where we lived and I regularly managed to come back home with green knees and my mother yelling at me :)

Maybe I have been kidnapped by a huge grass monster in that play field and this is the real reason for freshly cut grass reminds me of that place :D

Oh, there was also a [enter a couple of not so nice but not too bad words] old lady living next to the field, who would show up from a window and yell at us children, threatening us to call the police.

Obviously we didn’t care about her, ignoring or answering in a not too polite way (but still within a child’s vocabulary, of course). Now I would actually imagine myself the face of a lazy doughnut eating police officer who is being asked to arrest a bunch of snotty kids playing on a lawn :)

Ok. That’s all with my sick childhood memories. I just needed a break from XSD :-)

Right now I am implementing WSDL and Schema import using a global Schema cache and some other nifty features. But it’s getting boring. I have also to deal with forward declared data types and other issues that make the whole code as overbloated as the XSD specs.
